April, the weather is cool, the days bounce from sunny to rainy, and nature wakes up. This

Spring was also the time for a new beginning for Yugen & Duende-Vive Andalucía. Andalucía

burst with color, fiesta, and flavors, and we hosted our first two groups after the SARS.CV-2

scare.

CEIP Oromana, a local elementary school, asked us to host their Erasmus visitors during their trip to Seville.

The group, composed of teachers and students from Croatia, Lithuania, Poland, Portugal, and Turkiye, spent a week in the Seville metropolitan area where they exchanged academic experiences and took time to learn about Spain and more specifically, Andalucía.

We were thrilled to work on the itinerary, visits, and logistics for this group, taking them around to the most iconic places and monuments of this impressive city.

On the last week of April, our dear Hans Payan came with a group of nine energetic visitors from Houston, Texas.

They arrived in Andalucía on the very first day of la Feria de Mairena del Alcor, the very first

spring fair of the season. So after dinner at the spectacular restaurant “Cervecería la Giralda” and an evening stroll in Seville, we went on a 20-minute ride to Mairena del Alcor and delved into the feria. The lights, the music, the gorgeously dressed women and the handsomely

clad men strolling and dancing in the casetas and in the cool of the night made everyone join in and celebrate with the locals. As always,

Seville’s unexpected beauty popped up at every corner, from Roman ruins to the largest wooden modern structure in the world.

It rained, but it could not deter us from admiring the magnificent Cathedral

with its Giralda Tower, the gorgeous niches and monuments, and the small shops with locals and tourist alike. Similarly, the fiery sentiment of authentic flamenco performance, and the delicious local cuisine, wines, and tintos de verano exalted the senses to new heights.
